The philosophy of the BSB/IS program is to enable business professionals to develop and refine business, leadership, and managerial skills with an understanding of the principles of information technology. The BSB/IS program graduates effective professionals who exhibit the following behaviors and competencies: 1. Successfully work within a business environment to apply the tools of information technology in a variety of technical environments, 2. Provide the ability to support the application and implementation of information technology to meet a business' mission, goals, or objectives, 3. Through the application of sound management principles, provide effective direction for supporting and managing the information technology physical and human resources. The curriculum of this program is designed to provide a sound knowledge base of business and information technology principles and applications to support both business and information systems professionals. The program effectively provides opportunities to apply information technology tools to solve business problems and increase overall effectiveness of the enterprise, by exposing students to a broad continuum of theory and practice-based skills and knowledge in both business and technology.
