Master of Education - Secondary
Kaplan University
The Kaplan University online Master of Education program is being piloted in Iowa in 2006 and specific U.S. regions in 2007. The curriculum prepares degree candidates to become qualified teachers at the 7–12 level. As a prospective teacher pursuing a degree in secondary teaching, you will receive instruction in teaching methodologies for specific content areas at the secondary (7-12) level, including math, science, social studies, and English. The program offers core and certification courses, as well as required field work assignments and a supervised student teaching experience. The degree prepares you to develop secondary lesson plans, implement instructional strategies, assess student learning, and manage a classroom. In addition, you’ll take elective classes on teaching specific subject areas. You’ll be qualified to teach middle and high school students in public and private school settings.
Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
