Designed to concentrate on the artistic side of games – not computer programming – this unique program is your first step toward becoming an artist and designer in the multi-billion dollar game design industry. You’ll strengthen your basic art and design skills, then you’ll learn how to design game play and background, create characters and their environments, and apply your knowledge of video and computer games to evaluate game products. When you graduate from the Game Art & Design Program at The Art Institute Online, you'll be preapred to compete for entry-level positions such as game-play tester, character animator, level designer, and 3D object modeler.

The Art Institute Online is a division of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, which is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). ACICS is a national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

H.S. graduate with a 2.5 GPA, GED Certificate with a score of 257 or higher, or a bachelor's degree. Students must have strong drawing skills to succeed; a portfolio of 3 digitized drawings must be submitted for evaluation during the application process.
