Capella University has completed the redesign of its Master of Science in Information Technology online degree program. The revamping of the program is designed to strengthen curriculum alignment with evolving industry standards.
Led by Capella faculty and staff experts in curriculum and IT education, the revision process included a focus on IT architecture, one of the critical emerging competencies for IT professionals. As part of the revision process, the school has introduced two new specializations, Business Analysis and Enterprise Software Architecture.
The redesign reflects the rapidly changing, dynamic field of Information Technology. While the field demands curricula revisions on an ongoing basis, the redesign was considered a macro level programming change.
The Capella Master of Science in IT program offers a general IT course option as well as six specializations. In addition to the new Business Analysis and Enterprise Software Architecture specializations, the four remaining specializations, all of which received major redesign, include Health Information Management, Information Assurance and Security, Network Architecture, and Project Management.
