DeVry University has announced the opening of a new campus location in Louisville. The first ever affiliate branch in Kentucky will offer the DeVry staple of career-oriented courses in business, technology and management education beginning in March 2008.
The new campus comes just as a report by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Postsecondary Education Task Force cites a need for more higher education options in the state. The report stressed that students with two-year degrees need to continue and complete their bachelor's program.
The report sited significant shortages in the technical fields as well as several other professions that require postsecondary education. The report also stipulated the need for greater workplace development by linking with higher educational opportunities.
At the Louisville site, DeVry will offer three bachelor's and two associates degree programs initially. Bachelor's level programming will be offered in business administration, technical management and computer information systems while associate level programs will be offered in network systems administration and Web graphic design.
