Capella University, the accredited, fully online university based in Minneapolis, has announced the election of four new members to the University board of directors. The four new members include Marcia Ballinger, PhD; Willie Garrett, EdD; Patricia Hill, MEd; and Tina Stavredes, PhD.
Ballinger is a principal with a Minneapolis-based executive search firm. The former Capella adjunct faculty member also lists board service as the vice chair of the board of the American Red Cross-Twin Cities and the United Way Women's Leadership Council.
Garrett is a licensed master's level psychologist and the director of behavioral health for NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center in Minneapolis. Garrett also serves as the president of the Minnesota Association of Black Psychologists.
Hill, the owner of a private tutorial service, is a Capella PhD student. The former special education teacher brings more than 20 years of experience at the primary, secondary, and community college level.
Stavredes is a faculty member with Capella's School of Undergraduate Studies. A former director of curriculum at Capella, Stavredes was elected as the board's faculty representative.
Capella attorney Kimberly Stephan, JD, is now serving as board secretary while Patricia Cardenas-Adame, PhD, was elected board chair.
