According to the publication, Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, Walden University continues to be an industry leader in providing adult learners of diverse backgrounds further educational programming. For 2007, Diverse ranked Walden as a top producer of master's and doctoral minority graduates in eight different program areas.

At the Master's degree level, Walden earned rankings in five categories for degrees awarded in the field of education. The school ranked fifth for total minority graduates. sixth for African-American, sixth for Native American, seventh for Asian-American and eighth for Hispanic graduates.

At the doctorate level, Walden ranked second in degrees awarded in the business field to African-Americans, third in degrees awarded in psychology to African-Americans, and fifth for degrees awarded in the business field for all minorities.

The data from the 2005-2006 academic year was utilized to determine the rankings.
