Walden University has announced the three recipients of its Educator for a Day Grant. The three schools selected were chosen from more than 150 nominations submitted by Walden faculty members and school administrators. The three schools -selected were Times Squared Academy in Providence, R.I.,

South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind in Spartanburg, S.C., and
Conerly Road School in Somerset, N.J. As part of the recognition process, each school will host at least one aspiring educator who will then shadow a teacher at the school.

The grant was created to reward teachers and students for their commitment to education. The University is also hoping that the recognition will foster awareness for the teaching profession and bring more candidates to the nation's classrooms.

Walden is currently one of the nation's largest providers of graduate degrees to K-12 teachers. The award program is done each year in conjunction with the National Education Association's (NEA) American Education Week.
