DeVry University has announced the appointment of Joyce Wheatley as Center Dean for soon-to-be-open campus center in Chesapeake, VA. Wheatley will have the responsibility of overseeing the business, technology, and management education programs at the new facility as well as student recruitment.
Prior to joining DeVry, Wheatley served as an Employment Manager at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, VA. The new dean received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware and a Master of Arts from George Washington University.
Kenneth W. Stolle a State Senator from Virginia Beach welcomed the new South Hampton Roads DeVry location. Said the senator, "DeVry's degree programs, flexible classroom approaches and reputation for helping its graduates find meaningful employment make it an exceptional new education partner for our state."
The new campus will feature undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The new center will begin offering programs in January, 2008, joining two other Virginia DeVry locations, Arlington and McLean (Tyson's Corner).
