The University of Phoenix has established new programming that will entice potential college administrators as students. By offering its first two Ph.D. programs, one in higher college education administration, Phoenix is now poised to prepare the the next generation of collegiate leaders.
The university recently received formal approval from its accreditor for the Ph.D. program in higher ed administration. The approval allows Phoenix to begin providing programming for those mid-level administrators seeking to advance to senior levels.
Phoenix's new Ph.D. program will begin to enroll students as early as this spring. As with most of the university's programming, coursework will be done largely online. However, students will be expected to gather in person at various locations at different times during the program.
As with all online programming, the new Ph.D. program has been designed so that students can continue to meet their current responsibilities while completing the program. The new Ph.D. track should take 3.5 years to complete.
According to sources, the Phoenix program has been designed so as to seek to produce administrators who fully grasp the term "flexibility." If nothing else, experts insist that tomorrow's senior college leaders need an ability to adapt and to think on their feet.
