The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has awarded Kaplan University's School of Nursing and Health Care national professional accreditation for its online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
According to University officials, Kaplan's online nursing program is among the first college online university programs to be accredited by the CCNE. The school's Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a requirement for most nurses seeking career advancement opportunities. The Kaplan program focuses on preparing registered nurses for leadership positions within the health care field and sets the stage for further educational pursuit should student's desire to seek an advanced degree.
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education is affiliated with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, an organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The CCNE first began accrediting nursing programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level in 1998. Kaplan University's Bachelor of Science nursing program is one of 677 to be accredited by the commission.
