University of Phoenix Creates Next-Generation MBA Offering
Posted on: April 27, 2006 12:00 AM

Using feedback taken from many American Corporations, the University of Phoenix is set to offer a new business program track referred to as the Next-Generation Masters in Business Administration this spring.

In the new program, the University is combining its proven teaching and learning methodologies with real world business simulations to create realistic problems for students to address. The theme of the new program is to help current working professionals solve sample problems based upon real-world business issues.

The Phoenix Next-Generation MBA program attempts to focus on realistic problems that Fortune 1000 companies face daily. The new program attempts to create situations where students are forced to make real-time business decisions, mimicking the varied scenarios that management would face in the workplace.

The new program is designed to help students learn to put classroom based learning principles into action in the field. The new Phoenix offering focuses on problem analysis, encouraging students to not only solve existing problems but to analyze how the problem came about in the first place and to seek a resolution that includes preventing the problem from reoccurring in the future.

The Phoenix Next-Generation MBA will be offered at various campuses across the Midwest this spring and also available across the country online. The University hopes that the new offering will boost further what is already the largest student MBA program in the United States. In November of 2005, the University reported an enrollment of 40,000 students in its program offerings.
